I've been using Google Classroom as a tool in my 8th grade classroom with much success. After reading Alice Keeler and Libbi Miller's book, I have improved and modern ideas of how to organize and utilize the Google Classroom application to differentiate instruction, give students' choices, have better discussions, communicate effectively with my students, make grading easier, and so much more! My school year hasn't ended yet, and I'm excited to start the new year with the fresh and exciting information delivered in a straightforward, well written manner. If you want to design lessons that incorporate technology, but you are not comfortable with technology, this book is for you! If you are new to Google Apps for Education, this book is for you. Book was very easy to read, quite understandable. Step by step process was helpful along with the screenshots. I can see myself being able to implement most of the ideas and came up with other ways of using Classroom as I read through the book.

some people might say that all Patricia Highsmith books r all the same but not I, they r all different & very good. The blunderer is in the same category. I could not put it down. it took me 2days to read it.

Lies, guilt, and amazing suspense

Currently out of print, this early thriller by Patricia Highsmith bears many of her trademarks: page-turning suspense, unbelievably cruel and sordid characters, the "doppelganger" motif (as in "Strangers on a Train"), the famous "transference of guilt" that fascinated Hitchcock, and an overpowering sense of hopelessness (at times I felt like I was reading an American version of Camus's "The Stranger"). Added here is a theme of lying that twists and turns its way through the plot until "the tangled web" is so thick that there is simply no way out.
The story concerns two unhappy marriages -- one that ends in murder, and another that seems headed in the same direction. Like so many other Highsmith books, it features a pair of not-too-admirable protagonists, one who is truly guilty and another who only seems to be -- or is he really? How much do intention and motivation count toward making a man guilty of murder? This is one of Highsmith's favorite themes, and it's played out here in its most radical and shattering incarnation.
In the end, I think you'll find the book is about a man who is not so much a blunderer as he is virtually driven to possible madness and genuine guilt by the constant doubt and suspicion of everyone he knows -- including himself.
In typical Highsmith fashion, this is a book nearly impossible to put down, yet dizzying in its psychological implications. I've said before that reading Highsmith is like falling down a well -- it's dark and terrifying, and there's no way to stop. That's about what this book feels like.
Well worth finding, esp. for the die-hard Highsmith fan (like me).

Mid-Range of Highsmith's Writing

For Highsmith fans, The Blunderer has just been re-released in a new series put out by Norton press. (Norton is also planning to re-release other Highsmith books for which they have publishing rights.)
My review of the book isn't as positive as those by others who have written before me, but I think this is because I read, just before The Blunderer, The Cry of The Owl, which is similar in plotline but far better written and without the unnecessarily violent ending found in The Blunderer. (Highsmith wrote The Blunderer in 1954 and The Cry of The Owl in 1962; my guess is that in the intervening years Highsmith had time to improve on the plotline.)
Still, The Blunderer is a good read. Highsmith did a great job of showing how two people's lives can suddenly intwine in ways neither individual would ever conceive of if not in the middle of Highsmith's weird, twisted, amoral universe. Highsmith also continues her close-up examination of our inner obsessions that, on occasion, can creep to the surface and wind up completely derailing life as we knew it before.
I recommend The Blunderer for readers who are well familiar with Highsmith's works beyond the well-known Mr. Ripley series. Gain appreciation of Highsmith's "high notes" before taking a look at her earlier works which foreshadow the mystery writer genius of future years.

The book is good. I've been following the stories for years

The book is good. I've been following the stories for years. I didn't learn too much of what I didn't already know. As other reviewers wrote, ed sanders isn't the best writer and has many run on sentences that you have to read several times over, but I have no complaints. It was an easy read and I couldn't put it down. He does use "oo-ee-oo" several times, which there was no need for, but he didn't excessively use it as I believed, from reviewers. Good book and a must have for people that are into obtaining knowledge about manson, the family and the murders.

If you want court testimony, legal documents, and legal jargon, read Helter Skelter or visit [...] If you want to read something about these horrific events in a way that isn't boring and over your head, read this. This is one of my favorites on this subject!

Gr 5-7-This utilitarian, drably illustrated examination of the disaster will enhance collections needing an additional source for reports, but much of the information is either fragmentary or easily available elsewhere. After opening with an account of that fateful morning in 1986, Lieurance sets Mission 51-L into historical context: going back for a routine summary of the U.S. space program up to that time; profiling each of the astronauts assigned to the mission; then describing the selection and training of Christa McAuliffe. Occasional boxed passages billed as "Source Documents" present heavily edited sections of official publications, a favorite poem of McAuliffe's, etc. The author closes with a lengthy catalog of memorials and tributes to the Challenger crew, and attempts to place the accident into perspective with general remarks about recent events. Gaps and unimportant details mar the presentation; verbal descriptions of the flawed and ultimately redesigned shuttle booster O-rings lack any explanatory illustration or diagram, for instance, and though readers are well informed about the lawsuits brought by the victims' families, there is nothing here about the recent renascence of the Teacher in Space program, or the progress of its lead candidate, Barbara Morgan, since early 1998. The small, dark black-and-white photographs tend toward formal portraits or bland group scenes. A relatively generous selection of Web sites will lead to more current information. Very interesting

This book is really sad but really teaches you a lot about what happened - more than you ever read in the newspapers or heard on the news. I am a 5th grade student who is very interested in space and I hope the program carries on after the Columbia tragedy. I hope this never happens again.

About the Author
Dr. Christopher P. Neck is currently an Associate Professor of Management at Arizona State University, where he holds the title "University Master Teacher." He was the recipient of Business Week's Favorite Professor of the Year (2007). From 1994 to 2009, he was part of the Pamplin College of Business faculty at Virginia Tech. He received his Ph.D. in Management from Arizona State University and his M.B.A. from Louisiana State University.
Chris's research specialties include employee/executive fitness, self-leadership, leadership, group decision-making processes, and self-managing teams. He has authored 5 books, as well as over eighty publications in scholarly journals.
